Before getting any quotes, get a rough idea of what type of roof you want. Do a little research on what is available for your type of roof (flat or slope). Leaving it up to your contractor to tell you what roof to install might open the door to an unsatisfactory job. Make sure you communicate what your needs and wants are to your estimator so he can set you in the right direction.
