Objectives

Tory’s Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. is a Hawaii corporation, family-owned and operated, and founded in 1972 by Louis Tory, Jr., CEO/President. We are one of the oldest roofing companies in Hawaii and have been servicing Hawaii customers for over 33 years. We are constantly striving to be the best roofing contractor by always being on the cutting edge of new technology. Also by updating our training and certifications in regards to new roofing materials, equipment, safety and installation procedures.

The foundation for the company’s success is due to our strong commitment and focus to provide: 1. Customer Service; 2. Quality Workmanship and 3. Professional and Personal Integrity. The following describes the main key factors and goals we strive to provide on every job:

1. Customer Service

-Propose a fair and accurate price to do the required work.
-Provide the installation of a quality roofing system utilizing the best materials available in a timely manner. Most of our materials are purchased from reputable, local merchants. These material houses include RSI Roofing Supply Inc., ABC Supply Company and Hawaii Supply.

2. Quality Workmanship & Management

- Quality Workmanship: In order to provide quality workmanship, we utilize competent, trained, skilled and experienced personnel. Our men are constantly drilled about high standards that we try very hard to maintain. Tory’s Roofing continues to emphasize on “Training and Education” which are essential tools to our success!

- A qualified supervisor and/or foreman will be available at the jobsite to stress quality assurance, address any questions or discrepancies, and attend to any unforeseen opportunities.
- Prior to commencement of each project, we will ensure our team of roofing workers are trained and briefed on their scope of work. We want to be sure that our workers “completely” understand all requirements in order to provide quality workmanship.

- Quality Management:
- We will ensure all materials will be available and meet government standards and specifications; will submit project requirements and submittals on time; and delivery and storage of materials will be conducted in a timely and safe manner.

- Prior to our commencement of work, we will notify our customers of all safety/precautions to be taken; will install any appropriate warning signs around the construction perimeters of work to ensure a safe working environment for all customers and working personnel.
- We also hold mandatory weekly meetings with all of our working personnel to discuss important “safety” issues.

3. Professional and Personal Integrity
We consistently strive towards one goal: “To be worthy of our customers trust and high regards.” The following items helps to demonstrate our commitment to attain professional and personal integrity.

a) Regular Maintenance: Tory’s Roofing invests in hiring professional vendors to regularly check-up on all of our equipment and vehicles, to ensure our equipment and vehicles are safe and in excellent working condition.

b) Updated Equipment: We have recently expanded our equipment to include new, state of the art equipment such as: The only spray foam adhesive rig in the state of Hawaii, and two (2) new cranes and a hydraulic hoist for high rise projects which can carry 2,000 pounds up 5 to 20 stories.

c) Warranties: Roofing techniques and products are far more technical today than years past and longer warranties are being specified. For these warranties to be valid, installation must be met by manufacturers specifications, of which Tory’s Roofing is highly regarded by “all” roofing manufacturers as a highly qualified professional roofing company that successfully meets all installation and workmanship requirements.

d) License, Insurance & Taxes: Tory’s Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. is a licensed contractor and holds the following license type(s):
-”B” General Builder
-”C” Specialty Contractor Classified specialties include: C-5 Cabinet, Milwork and carpentry remodeling and repairs contractor, C-6 Carpentry framing contractor, C-12 Drywall contractor, C-24 Building moving and wrecking contractor, C-25 Institutional and commercial equipment contractor
Tory’s Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. is fully insured to cover General Liability, Worker’s Compensation, Property Damage, Vehicle and Equipment. We are also a bonded company and holds current tax clearances with the State of Hawaii.

e) Certifications- Tory’s Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. are members of the following associations:
- Hawaii Roofing Contractors Association (HRCA)- The Hawaii Roofing Contractors Association is an organization that represents over 75 roofing contractors, suppliers, distributors and manufacturers throughout Hawaii. HRCA members have technical and safety training sessions available which we send our employees to annually; HRCA helps to provide up-to-date information with the latest roofing technology, including updated safety education and training to help prevent roofers from serious accidents; and have the latest laws and regulations.

- Tory’s Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc. employees are continuously educated and certified for important courses such as fall protection seminars conducted at HRCA.

Our very own, Michael W. Tory, Vice President of Tory’s Roofing & Waterproofing, Inc., was elected “President” of HRCA for several years and in previous years served as vice-president, secretary and treasurer. He currently serves on the Board.
- Michael is highly respected by many of his peers in the roofing industry. He has been one of the leading roles in bringing educational and safety classes to HRCA to benefit ALL roofers, and has a proven history of his outstanding management and leadership skills.

- Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA)- Michael has also served on the Board of Directors with WSRCA since 2006, and is currently the Chairman of the Industry Issues Committee.
